We collect only what you give us: your email address when you subscribe to the newsletter or fill out the contact form, and the name + message you submit. We also collect anonymous, aggregated analytics data (pages visited, country, device type) to understand what's useful to readers.

3. How we use it

We use your email to send Japan travel updates (only if you subscribed) and to respond to messages you send. We never sell your data. We never share your data with third parties except the service providers who help us run this site (e.g., email delivery, hosting), and only to the minimum extent necessary.

4. Cookies & analytics

This site uses minimal cookies for essential functionality (e.g., remembering your admin login if you're a site editor). We use privacy-respecting analytics that do not track you across other websites.

We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS, bcrypt-hashed admin passwords) and store data with reputable providers. No internet service can be 100% secure, but we take your trust seriously.

8. Children

Yen Wanders is not directed at anyone under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

If we materially change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify newsletter subscribers.
