Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: January 2026

Honesty matters to us. Here's exactly how Yen Wanders makes money — in plain English.

What is an affiliate link?

An affiliate link is a special URL that tags us when you click it. If you then book something (a hotel, flight, eSIM, insurance plan, tour), the provider pays us a small commission — usually 2–8% of what you spent. The price you pay is exactly the same as if you'd gone directly. You're not paying extra to support us.

Which links are affiliate?

Most of the "Get the deal" buttons on Yen Wanders are affiliate links, including but not limited to: Booking.com, Skyscanner, Airalo, SafetyWing, Klook, and other travel partners we feature.

How we choose what to recommend

We only recommend services we'd personally use. Every affiliate partner is vetted by us. If a service drops in quality, we remove the link — no matter what they pay. Our reputation matters more than any single commission.

FTC / ASA / DGCCRF compliance

This disclosure is provided in accordance with the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Endorsement Guidelines, the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), and equivalent consumer-protection regulators in other countries. Every page that contains affiliate links is implicitly covered by this disclosure.

Editorial independence

No affiliate partner has editorial control over what we write. Negative reviews and criticism appear in our blog when warranted. We will turn down partnerships rather than recommend something we don't believe in.

Got questions?

If you'd like to know more about how we vet partners, what we earn from a specific link, or anything else — write to hello@yenwanders.com. We'll answer honestly.
